ISOFLUTEK® 1000

Vapor inhalation liquid

Isoflurane

Composition

Isoflurane 1000 mg

Presentation

250 ml bottle

Target especies

Equine, Dogs, Cats

Dosage

Isoflurane should be administered using a properly calibrated vaporizer in a suitable anesthetic circuit, since anesthesia levels could be altered quickly and easily. Isoflurane can be issued in oxygen or mixtures of oxygen / nitrous oxide. The CAM (minimum alveolar oxygen concentration) or effective dose values DE50 and suggested concentrations indicated below for the target species should be used as a guide or just as a starting point. Actual concentrations required in practice will depend on multiple variables, including the concomitant use of other drugs during the anesthesia procedure and the patient's clinical status.
Isoflurane can be used together with other commonly used drugs in veterinary anesthetic treatments for premedication, induction and analgesia. Some exact examples are given in the information on individual species. The use of analgesia for painful procedures is in accordance with good veterinary practice.
The recovery of anesthesia with isoflurane is usually quick and easy. Analgesic requirements of the patient should be considered before completing the general anesthesia. Although the potential of anesthetics to damage the atmosphere is low, it is recommended good practice to use carbon filters with purification equipment instead of releasing them in the atmosphere.
SEE SPC for proper dosage.
