Alivira further strengthens its European presence in the companion animal sector through the acquisition of Italy-based BioForLife.

The acquisition marks a strategic entry into one of Europe’s largest companion animal health markets and accelerates the company’s global growth ambitions in pet care.

Viyash Scientific Limited (Viyash), through its subsidiary Alivira Animal Health Limited (Alivira), has signed a binding agreement to acquire 100% of BioForLife Italia S.r.l. (BFL), a leading companion animal healthcare company headquartered in Milan, Italy.

The transaction represents a significant step in Alivira’s strategy to capitalize on the strong growth trend in the companion animal health generics market, expanding its global animal health business and strengthening its presence in the European pet care market.

Italy is among the five largest animal health markets in Europe, driven by increasing pet ownership, the growing humanization of companion animals, and higher spending on preventive and specialized veterinary care.

BioForLife, headquartered in Milan, Italy, specializes in the development, commercialization, and distribution of companion animal products. With a strong product portfolio and a promising pipeline in animal health, BFL has established a leading position in nutritional supplements, veterinary medicines, and rapid diagnostic tests. BFL has also expanded its presence in high-growth segments such as dermatology and ophthalmology. Through its well-established commercial organization, BFL reaches more than 80% of veterinary clinics in Italy, building strong customer relationships that support future growth.

The acquisition will provide a platform to launch new products from Alivira’s pipeline in Italy while also creating opportunities to expand BFL’s product portfolio into other Alivira Group markets. The transaction will further strengthen Alivira’s leadership team through the integration of BFL’s management, who will continue to oversee business operations while driving new growth initiatives.

This transaction adds to Alivira’s strong track record of international acquisitions, having successfully acquired and integrated animal health companies across Europe, Latin America, and Asia over the past decade.
